Oh Pueblo!
Today's ride has been long known as one of the easiest of the trip. The ride was only about 50 miles and had a slight down hill the whole
way with nice smooth roads. I decided to go fast with the faster riders today. We ended up getting to lodging in about 2 hours with an average speed of nearly 25
miles per hour. At many times we were traveling at a constant 33 mph. Once into Pueblo we were greeted with a pleasant surprise. We were staying in another hotel. We are starting to get spoiled by all these beds, they sure beat the hard gym floor, although it is fun to have the whole team together in one place. For lunch we had a great meal at a local restaurant sponsored by a Pueblo city council member. After lunch we returned back to the hotel room
and for some reason, I must have been tired or something, but I took a 3 hour nap. Before I knew it it was time for dinner. Dinner was again sponsored by the community. We were treated to the first Pueblo Festival Friday of the season. The festival is a great event where the community gets together to share in some great live
music, some great food and even a little dancing. The festival was a great opportunity for us to relax and hit the dance floor even though we seemed to best the average age by a conservative 20 years. After a great evening at the festival we retreated to our hotel rooms for some rest.
