Day 41
July 12th, 2007

Today was the last day of our 7 day stretch of cycling before our break tomorrow. Today was the first day of the entire trip since Seattle that we have been rained on. The ride to Wichita was 80 miles but was a little more difficult than most days because we were all fatigued from the long stretch of riding and the wind and rain seemed to zap out our energy. Riding into Wichita was a great feeling because we are getting spoiled! We are staying in the downtown Hyatt for the next two nights! Once into town we didnt have a chance to even change before we were off to a lunch at Chipotle sponsored by a cyclist's parents. After lunch we got a chance to head back to the hotel to check into our rooms and relax on our very own bed. Normally when we get to stay in a hotel we have to share the bed with another person, but in Wichita we get our own bed! After a chance to unpack, shower and rest for a but we were headed to the the Wichita CP camp. The camp caters to individuals with Cerebral Palsy. The Kids get to spend a week at the camp fishing, swimming and horseback riding. While we were there we got a chance to participate in a carnival with them. I hung out with a kid named Mikey. Mike was a really quiet kid but opened up to me toward the end of the evening. The carnival consisted of a prize walk, a pie eating contest, a ring toss and some prize fishing. After the carnival we all went outside to retire the flag. We then sat around the camp fire and told about our wishes for the rest of the summer. After the camp fire we retired to our hotel to get some much needed sleep in our comfy beds.
