Day 43
July 14th, 2007

After an early 5am wake up we were on the road to Emporia. The ride was 115 miles but luckly was broken up by a spectacular lunch in Cottonwood Falls and a visit to Cassoday, the prairie chicken capital of the world. I'm not really sure what a prairie chicken is but it sure looks like a funny bird. The lunch was sponsored by the parents of a previous cyclist's parents. The lunch was at a great restaurant the gave me the best BBQ Blue cheese burger I have ever at in my entire life. Once into Emporia we were blessed with an extra special treat, we all got full massages for our fatigued muscles. Our dinner was provided by the Kiwanis Club of Emporia. After the potluck style dinner a few of us went out to get some laundry done. By the time laundry was done it was off to bed to get some rest for another day.
